4 Ways to Deal with Stress in Quarantine
For most of us, life seemed to be completely disrupted by the Covid-19 outbreak. Daily routines were halted, and life under quarantine was sometimes stressful and discouraging. As we continue living through this pandemic, it’s important that we’re implementing healthy and mindful routines into our everyday lives. Here are four helpful tips for staying relaxed and avoiding stress during the pandemic.
1. Take a break from the news.
Information overload can be upsetting, and when you’re stuck in the house, it’s easy to be overstimulated 24/7. Take a break from the screens once in a while.
2. Take care of your body.
Meditation is one great way to relax and take care of yourself. There are so many free guided meditations on Youtube and podcast apps, and most are only 10 minutes long! Along with this, take care of your body by eating well-balanced meals - and of course, the best way to take care of your body is by wearing your mask!
3. Make time to unwind.
When working from home, it’s so easy to feel like you have to be productive 24/7. However, it’s important to utilize a few minutes in your day to do something you enjoy. Read a book, call a friend, or even just relax on the sofa.
4. Connect with others.
Talk to people you trust about your concerns with how you’re feeling. Be honest with yourself and others, and don’t be afraid to ask for help if you’re feeling stressed or anxious.
We’re all struggling in different ways during these new and unprecedented times. This situation may certainly be overwhelming, but coping with stress will make you, the people you care about, and your community stronger. We all should support one another, always. And don’t forget to wear your mask!
